Nicholas Haney
Nicholas Patrick Haney, 52, of Altus died Monday, May 18, 2009, in Altus.
He was a musician with many bluegrass bands over the years including Lost Highway, Cedar Hill, Weary Hearts, Nashville Bluegrass Band, High Country, Allyx and New Kentucky Colonels.
He had served as Altus fire chief and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 3455. Born Jan. 16, 1957, in California, he was raised by Frank and the late Margie Lane.
Survivors include two sons, Neil Haney and wife Dawn of Altus and Ryan Haney of North Carolina; his mother, Marie Betaue of Nevada; three sisters, Dian White of California, Marti Samarin of Altus and Marilyn McCullum of Morton, Wash.; three brothers, Brian Haney of Memphis, Tenn., Frank Lane of Henderson, Texas, and Jim Lane of Etna; and two grandchildren, Tyler and Chelsea Haney of Altus.
